The People of the HolocaustThese are Jewish people that were involved in the horrible time of the Holocaust. Suzanne Spaak helped these Jewish families, when they were going through many rough times.
The Jewish people were greatly segregated throughout the Holocaust. During the Holocaust, the Nazis persecuted and murdered about six million Jews.

Suzanne Spaak's Story
Suzanne Spaak was born on July 6, 1905 and passed away on August 12, 1944. Suzanne lived in Paris for most of her life, and was married to a wealthy man named Claude, and had two children. Suzanne came from a very wealthy Belgian family, mostly because her father was a very famous and well-known banker at that time. Later on in Suzanne's life, she decide to take a stand and become part of the French Resistance. Spaak made this decision during the horrific time period of the Holocaust. Suzanne Spaak was a very selfless young lady, and wanted to make her mark in this world, by helping those who couldn't help themselves. Suzanne helped many different families, parents, and children during the Holocaust. She was completely against Nazism and racism, and couldn't stand seeing the poor Jewish families and children suffering for such a long period of time.

Why did Spaak join the Resistance?
During the time of the Holocaust, Suzanne was so angered by all the hatred of the Nazis. Because of this, she decided to help the many Jewish families and children in France, by being apart of the French Resistance.
